Reason For The Season

For reference, these pictures were taken at the Catholic Church I go to, St. Peter's in Lincoln, Nebraska. It is currently under a major renovation and it is really starting to look nice. I liked that they put up a manger scene during Christmas. I wish I could have gotten better pictures. We could not get any closer because the church is a construction zone. The renovations are supposed to be done about March 2024. It is going to be beautiful when it is done.

Christmas is supposed to be about celebrating the birth of Jesus. What would Christmas be if not for the birth of the Son of God who came to save us?

Many do celebrate with family and friends, have holiday dinners, and exchange gifts. Including going to church. Going to church during Christmas and remembering why we have Christmas is just as important as spending time with family, if not more. It just makes Christmas that much more special.

I think a lot of people agree that Christmas has evolved into a culture that doesn't emphasize Jesus because not everyone believes, but let's celebrate the holiday anyway. Who doesn't love gifts? I do!

But let's give credit to God for giving us Jesus!
